Obituary of Steven D. Cosgrove

Steven D. Cosgrove

May 13th, 1957 – February 24th, 2026

It is with great sadness that the family of Steven Cosgrove, 68, announce that Steven has found peace and completed his journey with us on February 24th, 2026.  Steven was a member of the Goshen High School Class of 1976.  As an avid outdoorsman he found joy in hunting, fishing, and being in nature.  While he was passionate about the outdoors, Steven found adventure in riding his Harley and his snowmobile.  Steven was a skilled carpenter who found happiness providing these skills for others visions and dreams to come true.

Photography was a way that Steven captured the love and beauty in his life.  Always wanting to share these moments with others.  Most of all Steven had an amazing sense of humor that he loved to share with others.   Laughter and smiles were a gift that Steven continued to give to others up to his last breath. Memories forever held in our hearts.

Steven was survived by his mother, Joyce Cosgrove; sister April (Jan) Morley; daughters Amber Cosgrove and Chrissy (Kurt) Wickham; grandchildren Kaden and Olivia; nephews Alton (Bonnie) Morley, Edward (Kimberlee) Morley, and Michael Cosgrove; niece Michele (Tim) Hughes; as well as, several great nieces and nephews.

Steven was preceded in death by his father, Michael Cosgrove and brothers Michael and David Cosgrove.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 28th from 10AM-1PM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route# 1, Pine Island, NY 10969. Funeral services will be held, 1PM at the funeral home.

A private cremation burial will be held at the Wallkill Cemetery, Phillipsburg, NY.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude and a heartfelt thank you to the Roscoe Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for the compassionate care that was provided to Steven.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Pine Island Fire Department, PO Box 159, Pine Island, NY 10969.
