Obituary of Dorothy Gutowski Marasco
Dorothy Gutowski Marasco of Middletown, NY, entered into rest on Sunday June 28, 2026 at Middletown Park Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Middletown, New York. She was known to family and friends as Ducky.
Dorothy was born on February 19, 1931 in New Hampton NY. She was the youngest of five children of the late Mary Pacion Gutowski and Stanislaw Gutowski.
Dorothy attended Goshen High School and began her lifelong love of sports, playing soccer and basketball. Upon graduation, she began a career working as bookkeeper.
Dorothy loved spending weekends at Polish dances and she truly excelled in her dancing skills. She was also an avid bowler. On April 25, 1954, she married Ralph J. Marasco Jr.
Dorothy’s greatest joy was her family, and she loved to cook and bake for them. She was an avid fan of the NY Knicks and Yankees.
Dorothy was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion and also served on the parish council. She was a member of The Catholic Daughters of America.
Survivors include her children, Mark Marasco; and Monica Marasco Dino & her husband Michael; her adored grandchildren, Ashley M. Post & Blake T. Post: along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Stella Weslowski & Helen Weyant and her brothers Walter and Raymond Gutowski.
The family would like to thank the nurses Jen, Julie, Emily and Rebecca from Park Manor for all their care, support and love for our mother.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday June 30 from 10:30 to 12:45 at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921.
Funeral mass will be held Tuesday June 30, 1 PM at St. Joseph Church 20 Glenmere Ave., Florida, NY 10921.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Florida, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
