Obituary of Linda Ann Gammerman
Linda Ann Gammerman “Miss Linda” of Ghent, NY entered into rest on Saturday April 22, 2023 at home with her family by her side. She was 68 years old.
The daughter of the late Albert and Annette (LaMastro) Zahn, she was born on April 5, 1955 in Brooklyn, NY.
She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years David Gammerman; daughter Jacqueline Ferraro and husband Chad; daughter Victoria McAteer and husband James; her four beloved grandchildren Natalie Alexa, Thomas Anthony, Madison Cooper, and Collin James. She was predeceased by her grandson Cooper James McAteer.
After being raised in the Bronx, Linda settled upstate with David where she enjoyed the country life, cooking and raising her two daughters in their beautiful home. Although she left the Bronx, her passion for the Yankees remained strong, however her taste in music turned country and there was always music on in the house. She enjoyed traveling with family and some of her favorite destinations were, Outer Banks NC, East Tennessee, Athens Greece, France, Lisbon Portugal, and Barcelona Spain. She especially loved the Amalfi Coast and walking the streets of Rome, Italy where she loved gazing at Trevi Fountain. Above all else she “loved those grandkids” and even in her final days found ways to enjoy spending time with them.
The world was a better place with Miss Linda in it and she will be greatly missed by many. Please join us to celebrate her life. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on Tuesday April 25, 2023 at the T.S. Purta Funeral Home 22 Glenmere Ave., Florida, NY 10921

Life is always too short, but thanks to the care provided by Dr. Maria Theodoulou and Colleen Murray NP, and other medical professionals, Linda was able to extend her life and fight a battle against breast cancer for 16 years. Memorial contributions may be made to any organization that supports and embraces cancer research or care.
