Obituary of John A. Hovey

John A. Hovey “Duke” of Westtown, NY entered into rest on Thursday August 24, 2023.  He was 55 years old.

The son of John and Jeanette Russell Hovey. He was born on April 25, 1968 in Sussex, NJ.

John owned and operated Duke Designs LLC. in Westtown, NY.

He is survived by his wife Colleen Hovey; son Joshua Schmick (Caysi); son Justin Hovey (Jessica); parents John & Jeanette Hovey; grandmother Jean Hovey; sister Candace Gale (Scott); mother in law Ronnie Sutton (Malcolm); brothers in law Michael Clifford (Barbara), Austin Cafferky (Kaitlin); sisters in law Kerrie Schmick (Eugene), Heather Schmick (Richard), Bonnie Clark (Ken), Ashley Kimiecik (Joe); as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews.   

Duke loved his family and his work. He had an overwhelming amount of friends that became family and customers that became friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday August 27, 2023 from 1-4 PM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home 690 Co. Rt. 1 Pine Island, NY 10969.

A funeral service will be held on Monday August 28, 2023 at 10:30 am at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, Pine Island.

Burial will be held at the New Unionville Cemetery 65 Waterloo Rd., Westtown, NY.
