Obituary of Theresa M. Lysack
Theresa Kata Lysack has peacefully entered into rest and joined the love of her life, Eugene Lysack.
The daughter of the late Benjamin Kata & Stella Olinski Kata, she was born on September 22, 1936 in Goshen, NY.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for her three children; Michele Kozireski & her husband Wayne, Thomas Lysack & his wife Michele and David Lysack & his wife Lisa. Her loving spirit will also be remembered in her grandchildren; Matthew Kozireski, Ben Kozireski, Jason Lysack and his fiance’ Susan Freitas, Jordan Lysack, Jake Lysack and his wife Emily and Elizabeth Asbach and her husband Jamie. Theresa was blessed with two great-grandchildren, Mason and David. She is also survived by sisters Janet R. Roth and Lillian Sieczek & husband Robert, along with several nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
She was predeceased by her husband Eugene Lysack and brother, Joseph L. Kata Sr.
Theresa dedicated many years to driving a school bus for George M. Carroll Bus Service, ensuring children traveled to and from school safely. She later retired from Orange Ulster BOCES. Theresa was an avid bowler and found joy in playing Bingo. She took immense pride in her appearance and could always be found at the beauty parlor on weekends.
Theresa and Eugene were devoted parents who never missed a sporting event for their children. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and loved reading on the beach during trips with her sister, Janet.
Theresa’s life was a testament to love, dedication and joy. Her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Sunday August 4, 2024 from 4-7 at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921.
Funeral mass will be held 10 am on Monday August 5 at St. Joseph Church, 20 Glenmere Ave. Florida, NY
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Florida, NY.
