Obituary of Scott E. Doty

Scott E. "Scotty" Doty of Warwick, NY, a self-employed Landscaper, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 30, 2015. He was 51. The son of Nancy Van Wert Miller and the late Stephen Doty, he was born January 13, 1964 in Goshen, NY. A statement from his daughter reads, "If you look father up in the dictionary, you would see my father, Scott Doty's name. My dad was always there for me. He was my cheer dad and never missed a practice or game. He tried to teach me how to drive on my grandparent's farm. My dad took me on many adventures that I will always cherish. I am blessed that I have you as my guardian angel. I will always love and miss you! Love your baby girl." Survivors include his loving daughter, Elizabeth Jane Doty of Warwick; his loving mother, Nancy Miller of Warwick; loving sister, Melissa Brown and husband Leonard of New Hampton; step-daughter, Courtney White & husband Christopher of Warwick; grandson, Zachary Vega; Godfather, Glenn Doty of Walden; Godmother, Edith Wosneski of Lake Mary, FL; his special nieces Victoria & Bella Wierzbicki ; special nephew Ethan Newcomb; and close friend, Gregory Hoover; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 3rd from 2-4 & 7-9pm at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921. Funeral Mass will be held 10AM Monday, January 4th at St. Joseph Church, 20 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921. Burial will be in Warwick Cemetery. A special thank you to the nurses and staff of Orange Regional Medical Center and St. Anthony Community Hospital for the exceptional care they gave to Scotty.
