Frank Slesinski of Goshen, NY, a retired carpenter, entered into rest on Saturday, January 09, 2016. He was 92. The son of the late Frank Slesinski & Stephanie Wieczek, he was born November 27, 1923 in Goshen, NY. He was a WWII Army Air Corps veteran where he served as 1st Lieutenant, flying the first two of his thirty-five missions over Normandy on D-Day. After finishing his service in Europe he returned stateside and completed active duty at the rank of Captain. In civilian life Frank served the Goshen community by twice being elected to the Goshen Central School District School Board in the early 1960s. Frank was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He truly enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up and was a faithful "fan" watching them play their sports for many years. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Katherine Lempka Slesinski of Goshen; son, Donald Slesinski & wife Patricia of Middletown, NY; son, Michael Spencer & wife Gwen of Port Gamble WA; 3 grandchildren, Jill & Jennifer Slesinski and J.K. Spencer; sister, Antoinette Wood of Goshen, NY; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Edward and Daniel Slesinski. Funeral mass will be held 10AM Thursday, February 11th at St. John the Evangelist Church, 71 Murray Avenue, Goshen, NY. Burial of ashes will follow in St. John Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
