Eugene E. Schmick Sr. of Westtown, NY, entered into rest on Saturday, October 14, 2017. He was 75.
The son of the late Philip Schmick & Clara Langlitz Schmick, he was born on November 10, 1941, in Middletown, NY.
He was a 55 year life member of the Minisink Hose Company # 1, Unionville, NY.
Survivors include 2 sons, Eugene E. Schmick Jr. & wife Kerrie of Westtown; Richard Schmick & wife Heather of Westtown; 2 granddaughters, Meghan Ford & husband Brett; and Brittany Schmick; 5 great grandchildren, Calleigh, Abigail, Zoe & Brettan Ford; and Logan Klein; brother, Craig Schmick; 2 sisters, Shirley Schmick & Mary Lou Charles & husband Grant; brother-in-law, Louis Poloniak; 3 sisters-in-law, Shirley & Joyce Schmick and Linda Dare; and also numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by wife Susan Dare Schmick; 6 brothers & 8 sisters.
Visitation will be held from 4-8pm Friday, October 20th at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route# 1, Pine Island, NY 10969. Firematic services will be held 7PM at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held 10AM Saturday, October 21st at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Unionville Cemetery, Unionville, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Minisink Hose Company# 1, PO Box 372, Unionville, NY 10988.
