Harvey H. “Strawberry” Paffenroth of Warwick, NY, entered into rest on Friday, October 8, 2010 in St. Anthony Community Hospital, Warwick. He was 77.
The son of the late John & Sophia Daubert Paffenroth, he was born on July 1, 1933 in Pine Island, NY.
He was a member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Pine Island and the Goodwill Hook & Ladder Company of Warwick, NY where he served as Chaplain, and had recently received his 50th year award with his fire company.
Harvey Paffenroth, known to many as “Strawberry” was a kind, loving man who lived his life Heaven bound. Harvey was a devoted husband and father who loved his Lord and his family very much. He was a generous person who was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He shared many stories about his lifetime that made others laugh and smile. All who knew him know his light continues to shine bright around us here and in Heaven.
Survivors include: Loving wife of 53 years, Carole Langlitz Paffenroth at home, Warwick, NY; Three daughters, Lori Ann DeBlock & husband James of Goshen, Kim Paffenroth of Warwick & Amy Paffenroth-Lijoi & her husband Stephen of Greenville, NC. Four grandchildren, James K. DeBlock Jr., Sarah Ann DeBlock, Aaron Benjamin Lijoi and Rachel Faye Lijoi. Sister, Katherine Dembeck & husband Daniel of Pine Island, NY; Two Brothers, Roland Paffenroth & wife Catherine of Westtown & Leon Paffenroth & wife Carol of Pine Island. Mother-in-law, Lena Langlitz of Warwick, NY and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Ralph, Bailey & Nelson Paffenroth and two sisters, Dora Ochs & Eleanor Schmick.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 10th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route# 1, Pine Island, NY 10969.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday October 11th at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 70 Little York Road, Warwick, NY 10990. The Reverend Travis Yee will officiate.
Burial will be in the Warwick Cemetery.
