Obituary of Joan A. Johnson

Joan A. Harter Johnson of Goshen NY, a bookkeeper for Alders Wholesale florist, entered into rest peacefully on January 18, 2011, surrounded by her loving family and friends at O.R.M.C. Horton Campus Middletown, NY. She was 65. Joan was the daughter of the late Michael & Tessie Harter, and was born September 26, 1945 in Goshen NY. Survivors include her Daughter Susan K. Johnson of Bloomingburg, NY, her son, Michael R. Johnson of Goshen NY and her Grandson Kyle M. Curesky of Bloomingburg, NY and several cousins and lots of loving friends. She was predeceased by her brother Raymond J. Giza and his wife Susan G. Giza. Family Statement read: Grandma Joan was such a devoted mother who loved us and her grandson unconditionally, she touched the life of everyone she met. She loved her #48 Jimmy Johnson. We lost our best friend but the love she has given us will be in our hearts forever. Susan and Michael would like to thank the staff at The Tucker Center, especially Dr. Jeffrey Stewart, thank you for giving us more time to share with our mom, you have taught us how each day really is a gift, and to Dr. Andreca & Dr. Sandkovsky thank you for the compassion and love you showed towards our mom, you both have a special place in our hearts. Thank you to Eva and the entire nursing staff at The Tucker Center. Each and every one of you who took care of our mom touched our life in such a special way. We can’t thank you enough for all the wonderful care that you gave Mom. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at TS Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Ave., Florida NY. A mass will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 22, 2010 at our Lady of the Assumption Church, Bloomingburg. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery, Chester NY.
