Obituary of Theodore A. Filipowski

Theodore A. Filipowski of Warwick NY entered into eternal rest after a long and courageous battle with heart disease on July 27, 2011 at Orange Regional Medical Center Middletown, NY. Surrounded by his loving family of which he dedicated his life. He was 80 years young and a life long resident of the area. Born to the late Anthony and Josephine Filipowski and predeceased by his sister Betty Ann Schwartz. Survivors include the love of his life, wife Marilyn A. Filipowski, they recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. Four children, David W. Filipowski of Fair Oaks NY, Cheri A. Ballard and her husband Mike of Warwick NY, Kenneth J. Filipowski of the state of Florida, Jodi L. Bennett and her husband Gary of Westtown NY. Ted was also survived by his Grandchildren, Justin Theodore Bennett, Gary A. Bennett III, Danielle M. Bennett, Nichole M. Ballard, Michael Anthony Ballard and his wife Tyla. Extended family members Mark, Deena and Dara Tanzman, Brother John Filipowski and family, John Schwartz and nieces Melanie, Melissa, Michelle and Marlayne. Ted had a love for life, square dancing, fishing, the Mets and to Karaoke with his wife. Ted was proud to have served in the US Navy and retired from Georgia Pacific in Warwick NY. His larger than life personality has touched all who came in contact with him, everyone who knew him was inspired by his love for life and his infinite love for his family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the T.S. Purta Funeral Home. There will be no visitation and a private ceremony held at the convenience of the family. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Orange Regional Medical Centers CC Unit and to Dr. I P Singh for their compassion for Ted and his family.
