Mary Shanley of Florida, NY, entered into rest on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at The Valley View Center, Goshen, NY. She was the widow of Michael T. Shanley Sr. Mary was a retired dietician who worked at the Middletown State Hospital. She was 97 years old at the time of her passing and had battled Alzheimer's disease for 10 years.
The daughter of the late Anton Rygielski and Mary Harter Rygielski, she was born on July 24, 1917 in Florida, New York.
She is survived by her son, James F Shanley of Westborough, MA , her daughters in law Eileen Edwards Shanley of Goshen, NY and Nancy Pilla-Shanley of Westborough, MA, four grandsons; Michael of Goshen NY, James of Middleton MA, Jason of Hamden CT and Padraic of Pembroke MA and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd from 2-6PM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 22 Glenmere Avenue, Florida, NY 10921.
A funeral mass will be held 10AM Wednesday, September 3rd at St. Joseph Church, Florida, NY.
Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Warwick, NY.
