Obituary of Doris Rose Stoveken

Doris Rose Stoveken, of Westtown New York entered peacefully into rest at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 10, 2012. She was 89.
The daughter of the late James A. Irven and Etta Cavanaugh Irven, she was born on March 26, 1923 in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
She served as a Specialist Q Third Class in the U.S. Navy Intelligence in Washington DC during WWII. She was a member of the American Legion, George Smith Post #1607, Unionville, New York.
She lived in Westtown, New York for the past twelve years with her daughter Jean Marie Masuck, previously a resident of Wantage for over forty years. She is also survived by her sons, Robert Stoveken of Westtown, John L. Stoveken III and Susan of Hardyston, NJ, Charles Stoveken and Debra of Layton, New Jersey, Joseph Stoveken and Lisa of Pine Valley, California; and daughter Michele Stoveken and Andrew J. Burigo of Westtown; ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren; a sister Anne Marie Gabruk of Hilton Head, South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.
Doris was predeceased by her husband, John L. Stoveken, Jr.; two brothers, Robert and James Irven; and two great grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, November 16th at Our Lady of the Scapular Church, Main Street, Unionville, New York. The Reverend Michael Cedro will officiate. She will be laid to rest with her husband in the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, New York.
