Obituary of Raymond Jake Grzyb

Raymond "Jake" Grzyb of Florida, NY entered into rest on Monday March 25, 2013. He was 87. The son of the late Jacob and Blanche Kosior Grzyb he was born Sept. 9, 1925 in Florida, NY. He was a US Army WWII Veteran. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, St. Josephs Holy Name Society, St. Josephs Banquet Committee, Warwick Valley Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, Past Commander of American Legion Post 1250 Florida, NY and Seward Senior Citizens. Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years Clara Andryshak Grzyb at home, daughters Carol Dembeck of Florida, NY and Patricia Nixdorf and husband Lou of Florida, NY; Sister Teresa Noha and husband Harry of Delaware; grandchildren Walter Thompson and Brian Thompson; Brother in law Edmund Pawelek, Sister in law Helen Lis; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by Brother Edward Grzyb and sister Frances Pawelek. Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 27, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home 22 Glenmere Ave. Florida, NY 10921. Legion services will be held 7PM , Holy Name services at 7:30PM and Knights of Columbus Services 8PM. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday March 28, 2013 at 10 Am at St. Joseph's Church 20 Glenmere Ave. Florida, NY. Rev. Joseph Tokarczyk will officiate. Burial will be in St. Josephs Cemetery Florida, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Josephs Church Restoration Fund 14 Glenmere Ave. Florida, NY 10921.
