James R. Schmick Sr. of Vernon, NJ, entered into rest on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at St. Anthony Community Hospital, Warwick. He was 76.
The son of the late Henry Schmick Sr. & Mary Weitz, he was born August 12, 1936 in Warwick, NY.
He was a lifelong member of the Beaverbrook Rod & Gun Club and the NRA. He also served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Nancy Farber Schmick at home; daughter, Rosanne Perez & husband Carlos of Middletown, NY; Son, James R. Schmick Jr. & wife Rita-Ann of Vernon; 7 Grandchildren, Brittany, Gabrielle, Michael, Parker, Benjamin, Edward & Olivia. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by 6 brothers, Christian, Henry Jr., Albert, Clarence, Harry & George Schmick and 2 sisters, Marie Foote & Florence Schmick.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30th from 2-4 & 7-9PM at the T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route#1, Pine Island, NY 10969.
Funeral service will be held 1PM, Wednesday, July 31st at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, NJ.
