Obituary of Marilyn A. Filipowski
Please share a memory of Marilyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marilyn A. Filipowski of Warwick, NY passed away suddenly on August 27, 2013 at the age of 78. Marilyn was a sister, wife, mother and grandmother whose strength we depended on. Born to the late Mabel Babcock and Jacob Miller of New Windsor, NY, Marilyn was the widow of the late Ted A. Filipowski. She is survived by her brother Wilfred Miller of Big Sandy, TN, four children Dave W. Filipowski of Fair Oaks, NY, Cheri A. Ballard and her husband Mike of Warwick, NY, Kenneth J. Filipowski of the state of Florida, Jodi L. Bennett and her husband Gary of Westtown, NY, five grandchildren, Justin T. Bennett, Gary A. Bennett III, Danielle M. Bennett and fiancé Joe Farrell, Nichole M. Ballard and fiancé Chris Janian, Michael A. Ballard and wife Tyla, and extended family, Mark, Deena and Dara Tanzman. Marilyn loved to spend time with family and friends and take walks at the park with her beloved dog, Lucky. Those left behind will miss her so dearly and deeply, but will also rejoice knowing she is now in the arms of her husband and best friend. The entire family hopes to continue their memory by spending time in places they lived and loved together: Narragansett Bay, the west coast of Florida and throughout the towns, hills and dales of Orange County where they spent the best part of their lives raising their kids and grandkids to love life as much as they did. They were the most kind, caring, gentle and loving people that impacted so many. We are so grateful that they both gave us these blessed gifts and we will continue to do our best to cherish them, each other and share their everlasting legacy. One final note, we hope Heaven has been well stocked with Butter Crunch ice cream and Spaghetti!
Arrangements are under the direction of the T.S. Purta Funeral Home. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family hopes to celebrate their lives together at a later date. No flowers please, but donations in their honor can be made to the American Heart Association or the Warwick Humane Society.
