Gertrude Akacki of Pine Island, NY, entered into rest on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at The Valley View Center, Goshen. She was 91. The daughter of the late Angelina Justine & Raymond Thomas Caffrey, she was born on February 23, 1923 in Bullville, NY. She is survived by her children, Jean Miller & husband Wayne of Pine Island; Trudy Langlitz & companion Stanley Osczepinski of Goshen; Henry Akacki & companion Marcy Talbot of Warwick; Thomas Akacki of Pine Bush; 10 grandchildren, Amanda Langlitz, Jaime Mattson, Leslie Miller, Michael Miller, Curtis Akacki, Alana Akacki, Jason Akacki, Michelle Akacki, Thomas Akacki & Elizabeth Akacki; sister, Eileen Marosell of North Canton, OH; brother, Richard Caffrey of Bloomingburg, NY. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Henry Akacki; grandson, Jonathan Akacki; brothers, Thomas & Robert Caffrey; sisters, Marie Woodrow, Renee McNamara & Virginia Checke. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 5th from 9:00-10:45AM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 Co Rt#1, Pine Island, NY 10969. A funeral mass will be held 11AM on Friday December 5th at St. Stanislaus Church, Pine Island, NY. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Pine Island.
