Obituary of Abigail Agnes Pighini, Nee Loughlin

February 24, 1935 – August 27, 2018

 

 

Gail, or Nanny as she was best known, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, August 27, 2018.

 

Born to Elizabeth (Nee, Leahy) and James Loughlin, she grew up in Flushing, Queens, where she met, fell in love, and married her husband of 65 years and best friend, John.  With their beloved daughter Elizabeth “Liz”, they made their home in Greenwood Lake, New York, the place she loved the most.  She enjoyed all the countless wonderful moments spent there and the many trips taken to her favorite places with her favorite people.

 

She is survived by her husband John, daughter Elizabeth “Liz” and son-in-law Michael King of Greenwood Lake, grandson Kevin King and his wife Katherine of South Orange, NJ, and granddaughter Holly King of Greenwood Lake.  Gail is predeceased by her mother Elizabeth and father James, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 

Funeral arrangement are under the direction of T.S. Purta Funeral Home, Florida, NY.  Services will be private for the family.

 

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Anthony Hospital and at Hospice of Orange/Sullivan County for their caring support and compassion.
