Obituary of Gladys Gutierrez

It is with a sorrowful heart that we say our farewell to Gladys "Montiel" Gutierrez.

 

Gladys passed away Friday at 4:05 p.m. in St Anthony's hospital.

 

Gladys was a beloved mother, wife grandmother and great-grandmother aunt and friend. 

Her spirit will always be with anyone that was graced by her love and wisdom.

 

Gladys was born in Bauta, Cuba October 1, 1932.   She became one of the most talented and esteemed performers of the time. A singer, rumba dancer and comedic actress.

 

She married the love of her life Jose "Enrique Muñiz" Gutierrez. The two shared their love for theatre, dance, music, and comedy throughout Cuba, Europe and Latin America.

 

Gladys's greatest joy was her family her daughter Maria, son Jose and daughter-in-law Kerri.   Her grandchildren Jason, Jessica and husband Dany, Joseph, and Kyle.   As well as, her great-grandchildren Jai and Kaia.  She is survived by her sister Nora Perez.

 

The world has lost an exceptional woman but heaven has received another angel. 

 

 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in dedication to her.
