Obituary of Anna Sadowski
Anna Sadowski of Goshen, NY, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 23, 2020. She was 100.
The daughter of the late Adam & Hedwig Borgs Federowicz, she was born on November 17, 1920 in Scranton, PA.
She married Ralph Raymond Sadowski and together they worked hard on their family farm in Pine Island. After raising their family and working hard on the farm, Anna later worked at the Middletown Psychiatric Center where she retired as a Therapy Aide.
Mom was active in many organizations. She was a life member of the PLAV Post #16 Ladies Auxiliary, Pine Island; the St. Stanislaus Living Rosary Society; a member of the Catholic Daughters – Court Genevieve Walsh of St. John’s Church, Goshen; and a frequent volunteer at the Valley View Nursing Home, Goshen.
She is survived by her 5 children; Alice Rajnert; Vincent Sadowski & wife Patricia; Rosemarie Ostrowski & husband Ray; Joann Gotzon & husband Ronald; and Fran Gallardo; 10 grandchildren; Brenda, Stephen, Cheryl, Susan, Marcus, Vincent II, Lisa, Jennifer, Michelle, Danny & Francesca; 17 great grandchildren; Jessica, Taylor, Mitchell, Patricia, Matthew, Michael, Samuel, Bradley, Jonah, Sydney, Evan, Ryan, Riley, Maela, James Jr., Ethan, & Victoria; 4 great-great grandchildren; Jeremiah, Barrett, Joseph & McKenzie; along with numerous nieces & nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Ralph Raymond Sadowski; sons-in-law, Edward Rajnert & Fernando Tavares; sister, Marie Thomas; infant brother, Adam Federowicz; and brother Joseph Federowicz Farrell.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 26th from 10-11:30AM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route# 1, Pine Island, NY 10969.
A funeral mass will be held 12noon Saturday, December 26th at St. Stanislaus Church, Pine Island.
Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Pine Island.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions and guidelines set forth from the state face coverings are required and the number of visitors allowed in the funeral home and the church is limited so we ask that those that may have to wait to enter please follow social distancing guidelines.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Church, c/o St. Joseph Church, 14 Glenmere Ave., Florida NY 10921 or to the Valley View Activity Department, Attn: Mark Labruna, 2 Glenmere Cove Road, Goshen, NY 10924.
