Obituary of Gary L. Lust

Gary L. Lust of New Hampton, NY, formerly of Warwick, NY, a former bookkeeper for Baskin-Robbins, Middletown, NY, entered into rest on Thursday August 12, 2021.  He was 63.  

The son of the late Walter H. Lust & Loretta Gancarz Lust, he was born on October 7, 1957 in Middletown, NY.

Gary was a member of the Warwick Valley High School Class of 1975 and a graduate of Orange County Community College, Middletown, NY.

Survivors include his sister, Lori DeStefano & her husband Carmen of New Hampton and beloved niece Amy DeStefano of New Hampton and numerous cousins and special friends.

The family would also like to acknowledge on Gary’s behalf the many nurses who provided him with great care and friendship over the years. Special thanks must also be extended to his longtime physician Dr. John Ferguson and to Fr. Simon and Fr. Dennis who cared for his spiritual needs.

Visitation will be held on Monday August 16, 2021 from 3-7 PM at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route#1, Pine Island, NY 10969.                           

Funeral mass will be held 10 am on Tuesday August 17, 2021 at St. Stanislaus Church, Pine Island, NY.

Rev. Bernard Heter will officiate.

Burial will be St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Pine Island, NY.
