Obituary of Samuel Y. Hyde IV

Samuel Y. Hyde IV of Florida, NY, a retired Senior Budget Analyst for NY State Higher Education Services Corp., entered into rest on Monday, February 28, 2022.  He was 79.

 

The son of the late Samuel Y. Hyde III & Mary Louise Felber Hyde, he was born on July 14, 1942 in Manhattan, NY.

 

Sam loved spending time with his family, traveling around the world, exercising, learning new things to satisfy his curiosity, enjoying his favorite foods, and walking with his “retirement buddy,” Cannoli. He was an avid New York Yankees and Green Bay Packers fan, true to his New York and Wisconsin roots. Sam was known for his sarcastic sense of humor and his mischievous nature, capitalizing on his inherent ability to make others laugh every day. Above all, he was always endlessly positive, choosing to live his life with a glass-half-full mentality.

 

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Diane Fischetti Hyde; 8 children; son, Robert Hyde (Diane); daughter, Diane Maniscalco (Joe); son, Dennis Hyde (Jan); daughter, Barbara McCaw (Peter); daughter, Deborah Magistro (Pete); son, Adam Koehle (Kelly); daughter, Heather Koehle (Kyle); daughter, Molly Hyde (Jack); 9 grandchildren, Brenna, Alanna, Ian, Kevin, Emma, Brian, Angus, Anthony & Madison; 4 great grandchildren, Wyatt, Penelope, Landon, Mia another due in August.

 

He was predeceased by his sister, Lisa Hyde.

 

As per his wishes, a cremation will be held privately.
