Obituary of Thomas J. Ames Sr.

Thomas J. Ames Sr. of Florida, NY, a retired 20-year police officer with the NYPD, entered into rest on October 11, 2022.  He was 68.

The son of Peter Ames and Wanda Melecki Ames, he was born on March 6, 1954 in Queens, NY.

He is survived by his son, Thomas J. Ames Jr. “TJ” and wife Audrey; granddaughter, Addison; former wife, Elizabeth Ames; along with several in-laws.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Bonnie Ames.

Graveside services will be held 1PM Thursday, October 20th at St. Joseph Cemetery, 616 Union Corners Road, Florida, NY 10921.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation or to the Fraternal Order of Police.
